About the gallery
REGULARNORMAL was built with and for artists and the communities they represent. A place where integrity, mutual support, and respect are the pillars that keep pushing our human connections and artistry forward. Where we teach, educate, and learn with openness and real dedication—without discrimination. We want to disrupt the long-perceived status quo of galleries, museums, and institutions. We aim to create a place where love, unity, and transparency are reinforced daily. A place where all of our efforts come together in the true sense of collaboration.

About the presentation
REGULARNORMAL presents CEIBA, the debut solo show of the New York-based artist Aria Almanzar, who was born and raised in the Dominican Republic. Memory and Dominican customs are the construction points of Almanzar’s practice and current work. The depiction of apparently mundane articles, such as sandals, represents more than a simplistic ode to the everyday. It is also a testament to an elaborate cultural heritage. Almanzar explores the dynamics of the patriarchy and matriarchy in the Caribbean as being intrinsically connected to colonialism’s residues.
