About the Gallery
Founded in 2004 by Isabella Bortolozzi, the contemporary Berlin-based art gallery focuses on representing emerging and established international artists. The gallery moved to its present space at Schöneberger Ufer 61 in 2008, with an opening solo show by the Slovak artist Július Koller, who hand-painted a giant question mark on the gallery’s front door. Opening the gallery with a question mark was fitting for Bortolozzi’s programming, which is consciously self-indulgent; it is driven by her own desires, a desire to stay curious and to question her tastes. These desires have led to the gallery’s constant dialogue with younger artists and creating a space for the creation of something new.
