About the Gallery
Friedman Benda is the primary gallery for a roster of seminal contemporary designers and the Estates of Wendell Castle, Ettore Sottsass and Shiro Kuramata. Spanning five continents and four generations, the gallery’s program promotes key narratives in the intersection of design, craft, cutting-edge technological research, architecture, and visual and conceptual art. Founded in 2007, the gallery’s exhibitions and publications have played a vital role in the development of the contemporary design market and education. Over the past ten years, Friedman Benda has worked with over fifty museums and institutions worldwide, advising on scholarship, acquisitions and exhibitions.
