About the Gallery
Clima is a contemporary art gallery founded in Milan in 2015 to support young international and Italian artists in the development of their career. The gallery venue is in the Porta Venezia Contemporary Art District and it’s an apartment gallery space in an historical building which puts artists deeply and directly in relation with the historical fascination of the city. Clima also organizes off-site exhibitions in selected venues in Italy with artists from different generations and backgrounds.

About the presentation
Clima will show new paintings by Valerio Nicolai. The artist, who also works with sculpture and drawing, questions the limits of pictorial composition with a surreal sensibility. Nicolai starts from powerfully evocative images, full of unexpected elements. The artist’s new series features compositions of abandoned playgrounds and animals stuck in strange out-of-time landscapes. Irony is a key to reading his disorientating works, which force the viewer to rethink what they are seeing.
